The one below adds a three-course meal at Restaurant Herzl on Getreidegasse after the tour: a clear soup, schnitzel with noodles, and apple strudel. The tour and the meal

You take the four-hour coach tour from the terminal on Mirabellplatz: photo stops at Leopoldskron, Hellbrunn’s garden, Nonnberg Abbey and St. Gilgen, and free time in Mondsee. Collect the meal voucher before you board. After the tour you make your own way to Restaurant Herzl at Getreidegasse 37, about a 15-minute walk, for the meal, which is served as lunch or dinner.

The meal is three courses: a clear soup with choux pastry, schnitzel with noodles, and apple strudel. Drinks are not included. The tour is not suitable for people with food allergies or with mobility impairments.

For a couple who want the tour and a proper Austrian meal without booking a table, this is the simple choice.

The tour and the cooking class

The other combination, Original Sound of Music Tour & Edelweiss Cooking Class (Salzburg Panorama Tours), runs the coach tour in the morning and a 90-minute class in the afternoon. You take an apple strudel through every stage and eat it at the end, and try Salzburger Nockerl, the city’s soufflé; in the winter months the class bakes Vanillekipferl, a Christmas biscuit. Lunch is a goulash soup, with vegetarian and vegan options. Drinks are not included. The day is six hours, limited to 15 people, and not for children under 6 or wheelchair users.
